The first 1000 days of a child’s life are critical for brain development. One of the best things you can do for your child is read to them.
Promotes language development and early literacy skills.Builds motivation, curiosity and memory.Helps children cope during times of stress or anxiety and builds social emotional skills.Take children to places and times they have never been – enlarging and enhancing their worlds.Creates a positive association with books and reading.Strengthens the bond between you and your child.
September might be over, but the reading continues! Read to your child every day so they can build the skills they need to become READERS. The number one indicator for academic success is the number of books in the home, so we want to make sure kids in our community have access to great reading material!
